5 Questions For The Tedeschi Trucks Band
[VIDEOS] Gorillaz live @ Glastonbury Festival
Damon Albarn and his Gorillaz had some big shoes to fill this weekend at the famous Glastonbury Festival, where they played as headliners, replacing U2 who had to cancel their summer tour after Bono’s injury. Add that to the fact that last year Damon Albarn headlined the festival, when he played a legendary gig with Blur, and you’ve got really high expectations on your hands. Gorillaz where up to it, however, and delivered an uplifting…
CONTEST: U2’s The Unforgettable Fire vinyl giveaway
“The Unforgettable Fire” is, questionably or not, the first U2 album that managed to finally deliver a cohesive and uninfluenced sound. Upon it’s release in 1985, it topped every chart and solidified the band’s position as the number one rock act of the moment. It’s no wonder that for it’s 25th anniversary, The Unforgettable Fire went through a royal remastering, conducted by The Edge himself. Four physical editions of the album will be available, two…
U2 kicks off the massive 360 tour in Barcelona with a bang!
Almost a month ago me and Andrei invaded Barcelona and painted the town red during our 3 days stay, when we even got to see AC/DC play live at the Estadio Olimpico de Lluis Company. Chances had it, though, that we weren’t able to prolong our stay a few more weeks so we might squeeze in another incredible concert, this time of literally epic proportions – last night’s U2 gig in Barcelona. The concert was…
New U2 video: ‘Magnificent’
U2’s new video for Magnificent is staged in a Moroccan square, featuring the band playing, while various scenes of the beautiful, sunny Moroccan countryside are shown. Some interesting sheet slides, too. The video was directed by Alex Courtes, who also was behind the terrible Get On Your Boots video, and was filmed in the city of Pez where also the No Line On The Horizon album was recorded.
U2: ‘No Line on the Horizon’
Artist name: U2 Album name: No Line on the Horizon Label: Interscope Genre: Rock Release date: 27 February, 2009 ZMErating: 9/10 Website: www.u2.com Now, if I were to describe my feelings towards No Line on the Horizon, before spinning it, I’d definitely disapprove of anticipation and call for skepticism. Few albums were given in the past years, that promised to become huge slumps, only to transcend to classic LP status. I almost was prepared to…
U2’s No Line on the Horizon leaked all over the web [first impressions]
For the last couple of days I’ve been away on a short stray to the mountain side, far from any means of communications – I didn’t even have any signal on my phone, let alone internet. That’s why, when I came home a few hours ago, I kinda felt like the last person in the world who has yet to hear the new U2 LP (if there’s someone who hasn’t, yet, listened to the new…
Stream U2’s latest single, “Get On Your Boots”
It seems U2 are finally getting their act together and making music, not war. We kinda guessed this was the next step since releasing their album cover, so we kept an eye out and guess what: now, they’ve released their single too. “Get On Your Boots” is the first single from U2’s latest album, “No Line On The Horizon”, which is also available for preorder through iTunes, at only 0.99$. Also, it has to be…
U2’s new album art looks like the cover of a feng shui book
Yup, that’s the new cover art for U2’s upcoming twelfth studio effort, “No Line on the Horizon,” and while many hail it as one of the worse album art of the decade, we kinda find it okay, in a zen sorta way. The gray ocean horizon thingy was shot by Hiroshi Sugimoto, a Japanese photographer, symbolizing the never-ending horizon and the eternity of dreams. Ok, I get that, but what about that big ass, gray…
