Talk about a backstab! Yesterday, we were telling you how Scott Weiland was fired from STP, and how he actually found out about it from the press. But there’s more drama here; ironically, just a day before this, he was giving an interview, saying how the band only needs some “fresh blood”, and how “no one’s ever fired anyone from STP”: “STP has not broken up. I haven’t quit. I haven’t been fired. We’re talking…
Scott Weiland out of Stone Temple Pilots
STP has apparently fired their lead singer, Scott Weiland, announcing it with a single tweet just a few hours ago: “Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland – no further information is available at this time.” Wow. Um, ok. The group has yet to update their site, but it’s only been a coupla hours. I guess now the question is, can STP be STP without Weiland?
Stone Temple Pilots finish recording new album
There was an entire soap opera revolving around the Stone Temple Pilots a few years back. They reformed, only to split up again a few months and a number of muddy statements later. Evidently, I become terribly surprise at the end of last year when I received a press release in which Scott Weiland announced the band was not only back together, but also planning a new record and huge tour to boost. Stone Temple Pilots set to release a new album and tour in 2010

Most probably the first leg of the tour will run for a short period of time, before breaking into the post-album…

After releasing his second album, he spoke to USA today about that. According to him, writing songs that would become hits is the least of his priorities at the moment. “There’s a beauty in being part of a band, when there’s equality and trust….
Stone Temple Pilots to reunite
They are preparing this reunion for the Rock on the Range festival, to be held May 17-18 at Columbus, Ohio’s Columbus Crew Stadium. It will probably be glorious and spectacular and two days long, here’s why. Among the bands which are going to play there, to name just a few would be naming Kid Rock, Disturbed, 3 Doors Down, Staind, Papa Roach, Seether, Flyleaf, Shinedown, Serj Tankian, the reunited Filter, Killswitch Engage and Finger Eleven….
