Mainly due to frontman Jónsi Birgisson’s focus on solo projects in the past few years, there’s been little insight, let alone new material, surfacing from the Icelandic dream-pop experimentalists. Sensing this, who knows, Sigur Ros has uploaded to its SoundCloud a slew of new unreleased tracks, like demos, alternate versions or rare lives, which never made the final studio draft for one reason or another, but which are now up on the web for your…
New Music Monday: April 5
This week’s stand out release is definitely “Here Lies Love”, the product of a unpredictable collaboration between David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, about the life of the former First Lady of the Philippines Imelda Marcos and her relationship with a servant from her childhood. It’s an immensely ambitious project, backed by an intricate concept and a guest list stretching for miles. If someone had the chance of sampling the record, I’d love to hear some…

The song sounds pretty awesome, being a mixture between Animal Collective and Dave Matthews, with haunting tribal beats, pastoral acoustic guitars and wonderful Jonsi…

To be more exact, the follow-up to 2005’s Takk comes out in the…

Dates after the jump.
