Former Iron Maiden frontman: “I don’t do opera [like Dickinson] – I’m not gay”

Former Iron Maiden frontman Paul di Anno is one of the baddest singers out there; he recently stopped the show at a concert in Ukraine after a member of the audience kept shouting Bruce Dickinson’s name. Di’Anno said: “I’m sorry – I don’t do opera,” and mimicked Dickinson’s vocal on ‘Run To The Hills’. He added: “It’s too f–king easy – and I’m not gay.” But he was just started. “This is punk. If you…

Iron Maiden’s Final Frontier

Artwork for 'The Final Frontier' by long time Maiden collaborator Melvyn Grant.

Remarkably, the iconic heavy metal band Iron Maiden have reached their fifteenth full length studio effort, once with the upcoming release of the band’s latest installment “The Final Frontier” –  only one month away! I’ve only found two songs on the web (‘El Dorado” and the title track), but from what I’ve briefly sampled and read elsewhere, it’s a…

Iron Maiden live in Bucharest

Monday, August 4th. A day that will forever remain in my heart, and that of over 22,000 people gathered in the Cotroceni Stadium of Bucharest to hear icons Iron Maiden play. What a show, what a band, what a night… Let’s start from the beginning, though. I embarked with Andrei on a 2 hour train ride towards Bucharest, right in the morning, with the tickets in our pockets, votka and cola on the right and…

Iron Maiden still rocking hard live + to release new material

Wednesday night was a good day to rock, as Iron Maiden rolled out hit after hit in front of a 12,500 strong  crowd in Concord, CA. “I think there are a few new faces out there,” was how Bruce Dickinson opened up one of the band’s songs. “Some younger people who weren’t even born when we wrote some of these songs 25 years ago,” he follows.  When I first heard this the first thing that…

Anthrax opens for Iron Maiden

I already bought my ticket for the Iron Maiden tour! Hope you have yours, cause there’s pretty much sold out; except for ebay perhaps, but that’s always taking a chance. That’s right, the metal legends have announced a short spring tour, kicking off with a warmup club show…

Iron Maiden release Live After Death

Extremly few bands have managed to achieve the class and showmanship which Iron Maiden embody in every one of their shows. Unfortunately, their more recent work, despite being quite good, is far from reaching the level of their golden age records. For those of you who feel a bit nostalgic, or just want a piece of brilliant music, this is the best place to start. The new release looks back to what could certainly be called…

Iron Maiden flies first class with Bruce Air

There’s no safer and better way to travel then by air, but the heavy metal icons of [tag]Iron Maiden[/tag] go a step further, by commissioning their own custom plane. The plane has been primarily purchased as the band intends to do some serious traveling for their upcoming 2008 tour around the world. Piloting, the converted Astraeus Boeing 757 decorated with the Iron Maiden logo and the band’s skeletal mascot Eddie, will be none other then…

Tickets soon to be on sale for Download Festival ’08

This weekend, between 08-10 June 2007, the ’07 Download Festival was held in the traditional location of Donington Park, where as usual there was some hard rocking.
