Eminem Unveils Full-Length ‘Berzerk’ Video Featuring Rick Rubin and Kendrick Lamar

Eminem has unveiled the full-length video for his new song, “Berzerk” – a video which pays tribute to the Beastie Boys’ “So What Cha Want” video, with the distorted, photo negative background and Eminem’s delivery and dress. The video features notable appearances, including Kendrick Lamar, Rick Rubin, Kid Rock and Slaughterhouse. Still, as much as I was excited to see new work from Eminem, especially something going back to ‘vintage Slim’, he didn’t really seem…

Adam Yauch’s Will: Keep My Music Out of Ads

Before the Beastie Boy Adam Yauch passed away from cancer in May of this year, he made one thing very clear in his will: no commercial can feature any music written by him. Along with other artists like Levon Helm of The Band and Tom Waits, Yauch was very much against the usage of music for advertisement purposes. While Yauch’s wishes may appear to be valid, but an article by Wendy S. Goffe in Forbes…

Beastie Boys - Hot Sauce Committee Part Two artwork

The much anticipated eighth full length Beastie Boys record is only a week away from its much awaited release date, and as such the band has been kind enough to treat us to a third appetizer off  “Hot Sauce Committee Part Two”. “Say It” envisions everything you might except from Hot Sauce 2, terribly diverse material compared to previous stuff, with heavy lo-fi beats and reverbed vocals. Definitely feeling the track as a week turns…

Beastie Boys’ MCA diagnosed with cancer – tour/new album pushed back

Some pretty sad news hit the web yesterday as Beastie Boys’ Adam “MCA” Yauch announced via the band’s website that’s he has just recently been diagnosed with a tumor in a parotid gland. Lately, during live shows, MCA was evidently struggling a bit, compared to the rest of the trio and this serves as a very unwanted explanation. Fans should not worry too much though (heck, it’s just cancer, right?), since it’s been localized and…

Beasty Boys’ new album gets a name

I wasn’t left very much impressed by Beastie Boys’ last album, the all instrumental The Mix-up. Sure, it had some really nice beats, on which you could easily groove to, but at the same time it kinda felt a bit repetitive. My more or less disappointment was caused, however, by the sentiment of loathing  for more of the same material present on  Beastie Boys’ extraordinary 2004 effort, To The 5 Borrows – a truly memorable…
