A few days ago, Rolling Stone published their review of AIC’s latest record “Black Gives Way to Blue,” awarding it 2.5 stars out of 5, in a one paragraph long piece. Mr. Christian Hoard, did you even listen to the album or did you just stream a few tracks over AOL? Have you ever listened to an AIC album, in the first place? Black Gives Way to Blue is no masterpiece, I’ll grant you that, but 2.5? Please. Final nail the coffin, man. RS is officially dead for me – off my bookmarks, off my RSS, D-E-A-D.
It’s easily up there among the best releases of the year, no questions asked, and I find it hard for someone to disagree with me on this one (common people, gimme credit for this much at least). Last night, AIC performed live at the Jimmy Kimmel show, where they played “Your Decision,” an all acoustic that doesn’t do at all justice to the band’s grungy nature, but still very heart warming.
