Liars
The New York post-punk revivalist trio, Liars, dazzled us with their latest full length, self-titled album, from last year. Now Angus Andrew and co. are back with a new release, this time with a digital EP, in the form of the “Freak Out EP,” available on Mute July 8, 2008. Besides the track titled Freak Out, you won’t find any new songs in the whole tracklist, that numbers six items. The rest are either live versions of a previously release song, like “Clear Island” and music videos like the ones for Plaster Casts Of Everything, directed by Patrick Daughters or plus the video for House Clouds directed by Sonny Gerasimowicz.
Also after a previous trek, next to Radiohead, back in the US, the band is now ready to join their fellow UK rockers for some joint live performances in August, including two nights at the legendary Hollywood Bowl. Liars will also headline the free JELLY NYC pool party at McCarren Park Pool in Brooklyn NY on July 20th. Fuck Buttons and Team Robespierre are set to open.
