Dan Deacon is a, let’s say, peculiar individual, but in all good respects he is a fantastic musician! His skillful use of synths, samples and various percussion made him one of the most critically acclaimed name in the indie/electro scene, in the past few years. His 2007 full length debut, “Spiderman of the Rings,” was really awesome, although very hard to swallow (repetitive spins ftw!) and kinda short. For this years sophomore release, titled “Bromst,” a lot of expected from behalf of Dan, but from what we can tell, after listening to his latest single, “Get Older,” he’s doing a fantastic job. Guess he’s only getting better and better as he ‘gets older.’
Bromst is set to be a mixture of acoustic instruments, mechanical instruments, samples and electronics, including player piano, marimba, glockenspiel, vibraphone, live drums, winds and brass. The release date isn’t yet fixed, but expect it to land in record shelves around late March. Furthermore, Dan Deacon is set to tour this spring, to backup the album, alongside a 15 piece band. Expect some awesome videos from Dan in the future, too.
