Above is a mainstream aspiring English indie pop band with a touch of alternative, that auto-describes itself as “[tag]Coldplay[/tag] on steroids, American rock with a sense of irony and you’re halfway there”. Well if that was a little bit confusing that have a go on their latest single ‘At Arms Length’, available at iTunes, a thrilling and passionate song. The song openes with a slow and melancholic piano line, backed up by smooth guitar chops, on top of which frontman Karl Harrison powerful and commanding voice unleash powerful vocal notes, resembling the likes of [tag]Funeral For A Friend[/tag]. As the song progresses the subtle guitar chords turn to veritable solo riffs, of massive intensity, before the the song’s epic closure. Check out the band’s MySpace for more streaming.
