As I was telling you in a previous post, for the Sandy relief concert which took place last night, Nirvana’s Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic teamed up with Beatles legend Paul McCartney in what has to be the most unlikely reunion in years.
Kurt and the guys stated on more than one occasion that they are big fans of the Beatles, but who could have guessed something like this would happen? Is it just a single occasion, or something part of a bigger plan? We don’t know yet. Here’s what Paul had to say:
“So, recently, some guys asked me to go and jam with them. So I showed up like you do, y’know, ready to jam and… um… in the middle of it these guys kept saying ‘well, we haven’t played together for years’, y’know. So… the penny finally dropped, and I finally understood that I was in the middle of a Nirvana reunion. Ladies and gentlemen; Mr Dave Grohl, Mr Krist Novoselic and Mr Pat Smear. We’re gonna do the song we jammed now. First time we’ve done it live.”
