Just a few weeks ago we told you how amazed we were of Natasha Khan’s cover of [tag]Bruce Springsteen[/tag] classic “I’m On Fire,” who slowed down the song’s tempo and added a melancholic piano line; the end result was a song of her own, what covers should really be. Now it’s time for Portland’s [tag]Chromatics[/tag] to cover the Born In The USA single, trying a minimalistic approach to the song. Subtle guitar chords and calming synths can be heard on the background as Ruth Radalet distorted voice, sings The Boss’s anthological lyrics. Once again surprisingly a female version of Bruce’s bumbling vocals does wonders and makes a excellent cover.
