If ‘Sacrilege’ is anything, then it’s a return to the roots. Listening to it made me feel very close to the band’s early days, when the alternative trio made (if you ask me) their best music. After all, Karen O promised us a more rough-and-ready followup, similar in tone to their debut:
“It’s extremely lo-fi,” Karen O told Pitchfork last month of the band’s latest effort, Mosquito. “We had a shitty drum machine, a shitty sampled keyboard, tons of delay on the vocals.”
Great song, we love it, hope the rest of the album will be in tone. We’ll keep you posted.
