This is my favorite song from [tag]Interpol[/tag]’s masterpiece “Our Love To Admire“, it’s deep emotions that it inflicts upon listening are extraordinary, so I’m pretty pleased they decided to make a video for this as well and a very good one too, if you think how shady The Heinrich Maneuver was or how boring the live video for Mammoth was. Although the title might suggest a more explicit and sexual video, this isn’t the case; the song itself isn’t at all about sex or threesomes, it’s about a dying relationship between two lovers, the third member in the love triangle I suspect is time.
The video features the band playing in a damp and empty old apartment, with a more then average number of mirrors, meanwhile a lonely old man butchers deer meat (not very sure where all this fits in). Time has flows differently in Interpol songs, as you can see in the video itself, the building grows old and flimsy, until it eventually burns out. The last scene is a dove trapped in the burning appartment, trying to brake free (babe it’s time we gave/something new a try/oh alone we may fight/so just let us be free).
