We all know this band, we all appreciate its uniqueness and most incredible talent. And they’ve done it again. they will release tomorrow what in my opinion is they’re best work – a new material called “Love 2” ! The French electronic pop duo AIR – Jean-Benoit Dunckel and Nicolas Godin – will release their fifth studio album Love 2 on October 5th (October 6th in the US), the “follow-up to 2007’s acclaimed Pocket Symphony, and the first production to spring to life from their very own state-of-the-art recording facility Atlas Studio”. The Moog synthesizers, the Wurlitzer, the Korg MS-20 and Vocoder are more powerful than ever. Even though you might miss the introduction from Moon Safari, represented by songs like “La Femme d’Argent”, “Sexy Boy” or “All I Need”, this album is much more mature in its being. It sounds absolutely amazing ! It’s as if the guys spent more time in recording each and every sound of the album and the lyrics are much more inspired too.
I would reccomend some specific songs from the album, but i simply cannot do that, as each song made me push the repeat button at least twice. They’re all superb, and this is something that comes so rare – listening to an album, from which no one song would you want to fast forward or simply ignore. I did listen to the entire thing with my headsets, so that probably must have influenced me a bit, so you should do that too: make sure no sound gets out of your reach.
