The 1975 were one of the best new bands of 2012, and are now certainly ones to watch for 2013! The boys create a blend of British indie and alternative rock, and do it very well. Being from Manchester, like many other bands, you’d already expect them to be quite similar to other acts, however this band are able to be distinguished and cut out from all the rest – genre is adaptable to them.
With haunting melodies, smooth vocals and rippling guitar strings, their tracks seem to transport you into an atmosphere where nothing matters; even the lyrics will have you hooked after the first line.
As well as two greatly acclaimed E.P’s already under their belts, the boys are gearing up to release a studio album in May 2013 and it is definitely one to look forward to. Big tracks from their first two E.P’s include “You”, “The City” and “Undo”. But before the big one, don’t forget to check out their new E.P “Music for Cars” which was released at the beginning of March. Exciting stuff!
