fWhat happened to Dave Lombardo kind of sucks – being kicked out of the band you helped create and made famous is never fun; who am I kidding – it sucks! But it’s good that Dave is keeping his head high and working on new music… with Disney.
Yesterday, he tweeted this:
I’ve been working on the music to a cartoon pilot for Disney and never thought It could be this much fun….Stay Tooned!!!

Since parting ways with Slayer, Lombardo has mostly focused on Philm, with whom he has recorded a new album “Fire From the Evening Sun”. The album was announced for July, but that seems kind of uncertain now (we’re still waiting for updates). He also had one guest appearance on Sepultura’s album “The Mediator Between Head and Hands Must Be the Heart.”
But moving to the Disney announcement, we’re still not clear exactly what cartoon he’s working for. Taking a look at the upcoming Disney series, the only animated one is Star and the Forces of Evil, which will air in October, this year. It seems like a classic Star-girl-fights-monsters-and-does-highschool-things, and you could always use some metal for this kind of series, so I’m glad Lombardo is working with Disney.
In his words, we’ll “stay tooned”.
