Few bands can be labeled as a must see live band, I know i have my personal list, there’s [tag]Muse[/tag], there’s [tag]Arcade Fire[/tag], there’s [tag]The Rolling Stones[/tag] and of course no list of this sort can be complete with out [tag]The Flaming Lips[/tag]. World renowned for their live sets, The Flaming Lips can be seen on shows in a vendor near you, as part of their upcoming US fall tour. The tour will kick off…

You never really know what to expect when listening to a [tag]Animal Collective[/tag] track, actually their sound is hardly describable, ranging from somewhere between psych-folk and noise-rock. Such is the case with “Winter Wonder Land”, a track full of experimental percussions and synth pop complemented by Avey Tare’s feel-good vibe and vocals. It’s not Christmas yet but Winter Wonder Land is sure to brighten up your weekend, and take you to a world where snowfall…
New Eagles single: ‘How Long’
So you’re having your daily stroll with the car, heading to your local Wal-Mart, listening to your favorite radio station, when all of a sudden a strange deja-vu hits you like a punch to the kisser. You stop the car and say to yourself ‘Man this a [tag]Eagles[/tag] song, but I’ve never heard this before’. That’s because this is their first single in 14 years, called ‘How Long’, released all over the air waves and…
New José González video: ‘Killing For Love’
The mischief adventures of Manhog continue in [tag]Jose Gonzales[/tag] new video “Killing For Love”, in which Jim Woodring’s acclaimed comic book Manhog Beyond the Face (be sure to read it, it’s great!) is brought to life. This is the second video Andreas Nilsson has made for Jose, after Down The Line, with the same Hogman sage theme. This time around Hogman is completely bare naked, as opposed to the Down The Line video, where he…
Babyshambles unvail new single cover
The Pete Doherty fronted band [tag]Babyshambles[/tag] have just reveled the artwork for their latest single “Delivery”, due to be released on September 17. The cover features a painting depicting teenaged genius poet Thomas Chatterton, by famous pre-Raphaelite painter Henry Wallis. Apparently Pete Doherty was always intrigued by the young poet’s work, who died a tragic death, after he committed suicide at age 17, to escape death by starvation. via NME. [display_podcast]
New Spoon video: ‘Don’t You Evah’
Texan indie rockers Spoon once again prove their not just a local band, but a full worldwide one with their latest Japan filmed new music video for “Don’t You Evah”. The video features a dancing Keepon grooving on the band’s music, which is toured across the streets of Tokyo by a kind scientist dude. Watch out for band member cameos (hint: soda machine and escalator).
Jack Black and Mos Def team up for ‘Be Kind Rewind’
Hard rock musician [tag]Jack Black[/tag] and rapper [tag]Mos Def[/tag] are the staring cast in the uber comedy flick of the summer “Be Kind Rewind”. I just love the premise of the movie: Jerry (Jack Black) is a junkyard worker who tries to sabotage his local power plant, because he thinks it’s harmful, but gets magnetized in the process; walks in his buddy Mike (Mos Def) video rental shop and accidentally erases the content from all…

Download: The Fiery Furnaces – ‘Navy Nurse’
[tag]The Fiery Furnaces[/tag] is a Brooklyn based indie rock band, consisted of two very talented siblings: Matthew and Eleanor Friedberge. A real great band which i’ve been digging for a while now, but which most people confuse it for a [tag]White Stripes[/tag] look-alike, because of the similar garage rock/blues sound and also because Jack and Meg White were considered brother and sister(they’re actually a divorced couple). That’s entirely not true, their a very solid and…

Considered, by many, the founding fathers of modern hip-hop, NY based [tag]Wu-Tang Clan[/tag] reveal a few more details concerning their upcoming fifth album, dubbed “8 Diagrams” and set for release on November 13. In a recent interview Wu-Tang leader RZA stated that one of the tracks that will be featured on the new album will be “Gently Weeps”, a cover that samples [tag]The Beatles[/tag] famous song “While My Guitar Gently Weeps”, written by George Harrison….
