New Best Coast video – ‘Boyfriend’

Best Coast is definitely shaping up as this year’s best new band, marveling pair upon pair of ears with their stunning debut. One of “Crazy for You”‘s gems, the sparkling ’60s vibe revamp “Boyfriend” just got its official video up recently. Directed by Taylor Cohen, the video makes up for a sweet capture of a typical Mexican wedding, complete with the retro vibe. Crazy for You is out now on Mexican Summer.

Download: Sage Francis – “Three Sheets to the Wind” (Dan Le Sac remix)

The less bearded half of the funktastic duo Dan Le Sac and Scroobius Pip just recently released a smashing remix for Sage Francis’ “Three Sheets to the Wind”. Heavy beats, a wobbly bass line on top of Sage’s infectious lyrics makes this a great party starter, as well as another quality addition to the slew of dubstep remixes catching heat lately. [VIDEO] Warpaint – ‘Undertow’

Warpaint’s Undertow has been haunting me for a few weeks now, slowly making its way on the top of my playlist, and today I couldn’t be more thrilled to hear the band released an official video for their debut’s first single. The video is pretty simple, but pretty much follows and feels what the song would look like if sound would’ve been transposed into visuals – scenes of reminiscences and passionate memories. As a fun…

Bands to Watch: The Spies

So I was mailing back my Netflix pick (The Postman Always Rings Twice) last week and I couldn’t help but think Film Noir is so damn cool. With all the Femme Fatales, crooked cops and spies running around it puts you in the mood to be mysterious. That’s what I enjoy about the Los Angeles based band The Spies. They get that cool and mystery go a long way, probably because two of the band…

Google + Lennon = Epic Doodle

Do you know what day is today ? What do you mean ‘no’ ? Well then, you obviously haven’t been on Google’s homepage either. If you go there and click on their logo, this particular doodle will launch: This is because today, if he were still alive, Lennon would celebrate his 70th birthday. Great going, Google ! We would also like to take a moment and remember John Lennon, member of what is perhaps the…

Arcade Fire: ‘The Suburbs’

Album name: The Suburbs Artist name: Arcade Fire Genre: Indie Rock Released: August 2, 2010 Label: Merge/Mercury ZME Rating: 9/10 Website: arcadefire.com A tremendous amount of hype has surrounded Arcade Fire since they released their self-titled EP back in 2004. [VIDEO] The Japanese Popstars feat. Green Velvet – ‘Let Go’

Spontaneous and fascinating, the animated video for The Japanese Popstars’ “Let Go” will make you want to take off, clean and scrub your eyeballs. This is dirty, this is techno, this is awesome! The technique somewhat reminds me of Blu’s stop motion graffiti animation, which you guys should check out, if you haven’t already.
