Roger Waters announced plans to release a new concept album called “Heartland”.
As usual, Mr. Waters hasn’t gone into many details about the album, but he did mention something very interesting…
“I’ll tell you what the first line is – I haven’t told anyone else, and I may be sticking my head too far above the parapet,” said Waters, “but the first line is, ‘If I had been God…'”
Oh wow, gee, you know that joke when Roger Waters goes to heaven and sees the almighty god on his almighty throne and says “Hey you’re sitting in my place”? This is taking it to the next level. But still, we are talking about one of the most talented composers to ever walk the face of the Earth, definitely one of the most creative minds as well, so the result will almost certainly be something really sweet.
Soon, Waters will perform alongside wounded war veterans. Eight soldiers and three Marines will join him for three songs at a “Stand Up For Heroes” benefit concert at the Beacon Theatre.
“I’m really proud to be working with them,” he said.
