After two incredible albums, “Strawberry Jam” and “Merriweather Post Pavilion“, a lot of touring in between and beyond, and even the full length motion picture ODDSAC released at the beginning of this year, it seems Animal Collective has begun to show signs of growing weary.
“There was just so much touring for us,” Panda Bear (aka Noah Lennox) told BBC 6 Music. “We’re not really road dogs. We were really happy with the record, so we wanted to put in a little extra this time. But it took its toll in terms of us just being exhausted. So I think all of us are trying to lay low just for a second.”
I’m really bummed about this particular news piece, considering this means the band will take a break from producing for a while, nevermind touring. Panda Bear, however, still has his forth album, “Tomboy“, slated for a September release via Paw Tracks.
