As the summer gets hotter the stream of new releases seem to get ever thinner, but that’s only normal – it’s always been like this, and one can only wait for autumn’s sweet cold touch that always revigorates our playlist with new music. Of course, this doesn’t mean there’s nothing worth while coming up…
Patrick Wolf’s “Bachelor” for example is one of this week’s gems, finally getting an US presence after the subsequent June UK release. If Woodstock’s memories still haunt you, and rightfully so (how I envy some people for simply existing in that period), know that a new and awesome compilation sees the light of day this week, namely the “Woodstock: 40 Years on: Back to Yasgur’s Farm” LP, featuring 38 previously unreleased live recordings from The Grateful Dead, The Who, and many more artists.
Other than that, keep a sharp eye on the new Cobra Starship, Anna Ternheim and Box Elders records.
