A myriad of intersting new music this week, folks. My personal favorite release is “Romanian Names,” the latest release from behalf of what’s possibly one of the most under rated contemporary singer/songwriters, John Vanderslice. Check out our download/stream of John’s Fetal Horses in a previous post, for a bit of sampling. Yes, genious .
Can’t help noticing there are a lot of R & B and hip-hop centered albums this week, most probably having to do with the summer season around the corner. Busta Rhymes, Eminem with his highly anticipated comeback “Relapse,” or Lionel Richie all are back with new music that are sure to keep fans busy and delighted at the same time.
Iron & Wine enthusiasts can rejoice as well, as Sam will be releasing this week a sweet double disc rarities and B-sides compilation of his unreleased work, under the title “Around the Well.” Definitely, well worth dwelling into.
Really interested to hear the new White Rabbits album, “It’s Frightening,” since I really grew fond of their debut from a few years back. Britt Daniel from Spoon take on the album’s production makes me even more curious to hear it. If any of you guys have had the chance to sample it by now, I’d love to hear some feedback. Don’t forget White Rabbits are scheduled this night for an appearance on David Letterman’s Late Show.
