Villa Kang and Hazy Mountains – New Wings

‘New Wings’ is one of the most interesting tunes I’ve listened to all year, coming as a result of Canadian and German minds. The two sides involved are Villa Kang and Hazy Mountains, and as MP3 hugger puts it, their profiles would keep psychologists busy a really long time. But the production is great, the sound is just delightful, all in all, a really good song.

Rolling Stones – One more shot; released, then taken down following negative feedback

The Rolling Stones have had a whole lot of shots in their apparently century old career, and they’ve really made it count. Definitely one of the best bands ever, still got, still ready to rock your socks off, Mick Jagger and the band have released a new video from their new album, following Doom and Gloom. This is “One More Shot”. EDIT: scratch that, UMG just took the video down for some reason. Damn if…

No Doubt post new video – then delete it due to racism claims [watch it here]

No Doubt came out after a decade of pause with a really good album (“Push and Shove”), but it’s a real roller coaster form them. The pop superstars posted and then immediately deleted a video of “Looking Hot” following numerous racist complaints. Many viewers complained it was offensive to Native Americans, trivializing their history and culture. Basically, the video looks like a game of Cowboys vs. Indians, and that’s the whole offensive thing. Here’s the…

Big UK music (HMV) retailer bans long hair and tattoos

This people, is everything that’s wrong with the music industry! Well, it’s not really everything, but it’s really wrong! UK music retailer HMV banned employees from having long hair and tattoos, claiming they want to attract a broader audience, one that might be offended by such traits. “We’ve got new management. It’s ridiculous and discrimination”, said one member of staff. This does seem discriminatory, doesn’t it? Plus, it just sounds like bad marketing. A big…

Mike Dirnt, the bands bassist, talks about taking part of…

Killers frontman picks on Richard Dawkins: ‘Nothing science will ever find will disprove God’

The Killers’ frontman Brandon Flowers has recalled a debate he had with evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins on Swedish TV, stating that he is firmly convinced nothing can ever prove or disprove the existence of God. Flowers claims he was given a bad edit, and that the world hates the Christian man, which is why he was taken out of context. I don’t know what world he’s been living in, but the hate seems to be…
