“Let’s Go” – Matt & Kim new single!
Matt and Kim’s new single “Let’s Go” is available now and is a mixture of their original indie pop summery beats and calming vocals. The ooh’s and ahh’s definitely make the track do what it does best; it makes you want to get into your car, drive, roll your windows down, and “not care”. Which is, coincidentally, what the lyrics state Matt & Kim want to do. Have a listen and check out the video…

5 Funky and Fantastic Sounding Headphones
Smartphones’ ability to be used as more than just a phone has been a huge reason why they have begun to replace conventional cellphones of the past in everyone’s pockets throughout the recent years. Aside from mobile internet, email, and word processing, one of the greatest innovations of the smartphone has been its ability to be used as an mp3 player. With more and more people using their phones to meet their music demands, the…
Getting Over A Band Break-Up
Source: www.21st-apothecary.com Being in a band is very often a losing battle. Some bands never taste success, failing to perform a single gig before their career’s inevitable collapse under the strain of a heterogeny of big personalities with small tempers. And often, these types of bands can be seen from a mile away, each character precious about his or her contribution to what little music is produced from them, and almost always, it speaks through…
Dysfunctional Love Between the Artist and Audience
The smoke is still seems to be clearing from the explosion set off on the internet by David Lowery and Emily White during the middle of June. Lowery, a professor at the University of Georgia and member of the groups Camper Van Beethoven and Cracker put up a lengthy, yet meticulously constructed article on a blog called The Trichordist. This article was a rebuttal towards White, an intern for NPR Music’s “All Songs Considered” who…
Trouble – Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs
Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs (TEED) is a name created by the cleverly imaginative Orlando Higginbottom. Even his name oozes originality and creativity. You may have heard his song “Garden” which is featured on this album, backing the recent Nokia Lumia advert. He is definitely a new artist that wades in the mainstream and strides in the underground. Listening to this album for the first time after only hearing his song “Garden” made me realise his…
The Trend and Dangers of Pop and Rock Covers in Jazz
Here’s something that you don’t see often anymore: an audience cheering at a jazz spot when the musicians on stage introduce the first few notes of one of their original tunes. Perhaps it’s simply because few are playing the album releases on repeat in their home or car as they would with a number of rock or pop artists. Maybe it’s because that there just isn’t anything to “sing along to.” Yes, it’s a pain…
10 Places to Find Inspiration for Songwriting
Songwriting can be a somewhat tricky venture. You’ll often feel the need to come up with something catchy, as well as words that fit well within the rhythm created by the music. But the hardest part of all might be coming up with a subject to write about in the first place. One thing to focus on that can assist you in the songwriting process is the fact that music is a reflection of human…
The Jersey Bore
I guess GTL must have gotten really boring and barely any girls were DTF. What other reason would Jersey Shore juice head Ronnie Ortiz-Magro take a crack at the rap game with “How The F%#K We Gettin’ Home?” Definitely not for publicity…no…reality stars never do stuff like that. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Anm6166lQNQ The production courtesy of The Extraordinary Gentlemen is not terrible, maybe tolerable at absolute best. The entire song, on the other hand, sounds like something off…
