Download Countdown To Guns N’ Roses’ ‘Chinese Democracy’ Podcast

It’s already a bit redundant annoying exasperating to hear about the release of Chinese Democracy. Axl’s cold hands have been clinging on to it for more than enough, and it’s still not certain what’s the current state of the album, but something really interesting happened recently. “Talking Metal” posted its latest podcast which you can download here, in which they continue the countdown of what is was by far the world’s most anticipated album. It’s…

Download Andrew Bird: – ‘Oh No’

Andrew Bird always struck me as an incredible songwriter, with a wide array of awesome songs spanned multiple albums, that could make even life long lived band envious. I mean, when someone releases a new internationally acclaimed album almost every year, for the last 10 years, at least, you know you’ve got true talent at your hands. Anyway, if any of you is interested in what our little Chicago troubadour has been up to lately,…

Download: Jenny Lewis – ‘Acid Tongue’

Rilo Kiley’s previous record “Under The Blacklight,” didn’t quite deliver, not at its exceptions anyway. Sure, it had it’s moments, but they were more then shadowed by some lameass tracks like Smoke Detector or Money Maker. Anyway, Jenny’s still dear to me, no matter what crap she puts out. She’s like a button too. Her solo debut, featuring The Watson Twins, was pretty good. No, scratch that, it was quite awesome, even though it sounded…

Two ‘brand new’ Bob Dylan songs up for free download

Back in 1991, Bob Dylan started a series of releases called the Bootleg Series, in which he’d punch out various B-sides, rarities and miscellaneous unreleased material. In October, he’ll release his 8th installment in the series, titled “Tell Tale Signs: Rare And Unreleased 1989-2006,” that comes in both a double and (limited edition) triple album. The three disc version of Tell Tale Signs includes a 150-page book, and some editions include a 7″ vinyl single…

Download: The Killers – ‘Human’

The Killers are working hard and long prepping their third record for the highly anticipated release date of November 25, when “Day & Age” finally gets out. Last year’s rarities/B-sides box set, “Sawdust,” didn’t deliver at all and left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. I mean, it’s not that they’ve released any high-end material, really, but let’s face it they have a few good songs. “Mr. Brightside” or “When You  Were Young”…

Download: Jack White & Alicia Keys – ‘Another Way to Die’

We’ve really talked about the new Bond theme song pretty extensively, these past few days, from the coke ad we first had the chance to glimpse a few riffs of it, to Jack White’s flattering praises when discussing his collaboration with Alicia Keys. Anyway, the latest Bond theme song, “Another Way to Die,” finally hit the air waves today, and, from the few listens I’ve had, it deserves the hype. The song’s simply wonderful! Jack…

Download: Rye Rye & M.I.A – ‘Tic Toc’

If M.I.A. plans on quitting music for real, then she’s got a strange way of doing it, considering she’s been really active, musically speaking, lately. Just a few days ago, she got featured on Esau Mwamwaya + Radioclit’s latest leak, Rain Dance, and now she’s released yet another song, this time in collaboration with Baltimore’s Rye Rye, on “Tic Toc.”  The song’s really smashing, with some really, really heavy beats and interesting samples. Next Paper…

Download: Justice – ‘Planisphere’

Back in July the French electro duo, Justice, were comissioned by Dior Homme to make a mix for their Spring/Summer 2009 runway show. Of course, faboulous results didn’t fail to arrive, and the whole fashion show buggied to Justice beats. Now, some good months since the incident, Justice has released the whole 15 minute mix, titled “Planisphere” and distributed into four parts, as a free download at their MySpace page. What’s interesting is how the…

Download: Kinds of Leon – ‘Closer’

With only a week or so until the new Kings of Leon album, “Only by the Night”, lands on September 22, things have really begun to shapen up. We’ve already released two songs off the new album, including the first single Sex on Fire, but this time we have for you what I find to be the best song off The Night, in the form of the record opener, “Closer.” The song is really slow…

Download: Keane – ‘Love Is The End’

There’s been a lot of talk around Keane’s upcoming third album, “Perfect Symmetry,” especially because, allegedly, the band has gone throw a change of direction from multiple points of view. “Love Is The End” is one of the 11 tracks that can be found on the new LP, and, from what I can tell, sounds the same as any other Keane song. I mean, I’ve only listened to only two songs from the new album,…
